I have one mounted on a wood floor, and the other one is mounted on a tile/over cement basement floor. Both were easy to install and are very solid.

Great security device - a breeze to install
I bought three of these for three doors at a house I recently purchased that the existing doors and locks were in bad shape. The house has hardwood floors so it was a breeze to install them - just follow the simple directions included with the Nightlocks, or check out their video on YouTube. All you do is line the thing up on the floor, use a pen to mark the holes, drill pilot holes and then drive the screws in. It literally took 5 minutes for each one and I used a Sharpie, a 3/16" drill bit, and my cordless drill.

The Nightlock works excatly as described and is easy to deploy or remove when you need to open the door. I bought the dark bronze units and they match most oil rubbed bronze hardware. Obviously the portion in the floor is visible, even when the upper piece is removed, but it's pretty unobtrusive and even my wife doesn't mind it being there!

This is a solid, heavy gauge metal barricade that screws firmly into your floor with long, heavy duty screws. If you have a floor like tile or something that you don't want to drill holes into, then this isn't going to work for you. The product works as advertised. There are actually videos of this you can look up to see how easily it is screwed to the floor and how simple it is to slide the barricade into place. In my opinion I believe the item is a bit pricey (that's why I gave it 4 stars) but it definitely works. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
