so far so good......2 years going strong
I really like this dead bolt, but seeing so many Bad reviews makes me worry a bit. I will update this review if any issues arise.
Installation was breeze! I actually had a old manual Kwikset dead bolt and the holes aligned up perfectly. I read the instructions and had No problems at all, setting the code was easy, works great! I like how I can leave the home and just press the LOCK button and it locks, then I come home and enter my code and it unlocks! I dont like using a Key on a dead bolt, just seems to take too long, this is great!
Quick Update: Many reviews have said the motor drive goes out early. I can happily report my unit is still working fine. The batteries wore out just one time. I highly recommend this dead bolt.
Quick Update II: Well here it is Feb 25, 2012 now and it's still working great! Other than the batteries dying out one time, this dead bolt electronic system is flawless!

With your own personal code, you can enter your home with just a few simple pushes of a button—and you can easily and securely lock it with just one. In addition to personal code settings, you can assign a temporary code to whoever needs one—in-laws, babysitters, dog walkers, household help—and delete it when you see fit. The SmartCode features setting options that you can control via a panel of switches on the back of the lock. Customize your SmartCode settings by moving the switch to the appropriate on or off position. Switch one enables the LED light to blink (green for unlocked, red for locked); the second switch enables the auto-lock feature (automatically relock the door 30 seconds after unlocking); and the third switch enables beeping (on functions performed or keypad touched). Installation is easy—only a screwdriver is needed—and the deadbolt operates on four AA batteries (sold separately) so no hard wiring is required.
