Couple of Gotchas
Just got this and installed it last night. So far I love it, but there are a couple gotchas. Installing is pretty simple but you cannot tighten the plate too much or it binds the bolt. This brought about #2, the motor is not very powerful, so it requires that the bolt slides very easily and there are no minor impediments to the bolt. For instance, I have weather stripping that pushes the door tight against the lock. So the bolt is slightly off. A good stiff turn will close the bolt but the motor is not strong enough and thinks it is a problem. It will try a couple times and go back to unlocked. The same issue occurs if there is pressure on the bolt that would prevent it from being retracted. It means we have to pull on the door to take off the pressure. I plan to adjust the lower lock to adjust for this, but it is something to be aware of.
