This lock is made for inward opening doors. I needed a lock for my workshop that has outward opening doors. In the item description there was nothing mentioned about being able to reverse the striker for outward opening doors, but I took a chance and ordered the lock. There is also nothing in the instructions about being able to reverse the striker either. I just removed the cover on the back of the lock, removed the spring tensioner (Very Easy), removed the striker and reversed it. That's it! I would have given this lock 5 stars, but the quality of this lock is not the best I've seen. Not as good as the Yale Lock it's a copy of, but the Yale is WAY too expensive. I've been using it about a couple of months now, without problem. I's worth the price.
