Only One Flaw!
I mounted a metal security door in front of a sliding storm door, I needed a very low profile dead bolt and this one only extends an inch toward the sliding glass door. This was important due to the lock locations crossing each other when sliding the glass door shut. I also like the fact this lock does not use the most common type key to open it. The only flaw is there is no lip protruding into the two and one half inch mounting hole on either side of the dead bolt, as a result, you can shift the lock around on the security door with a sharp blow from any heavy object you would care to use.I feel this could cause a weakening in the 2 bolts that hold the lock halves together, also the key mechanism and the possibility of prying the lock free with a heavy screw driver. That was the only flaw and I do have a secondary dead bolt from a different manufacturer mounted on the security door above this lock where I have more clearance.I am thinking about putting 4 dowel pins 90 degrees apart on...
