I bought this deadbolt to replace my existing Schlage double cylinder deadbolt. I have replaced many deadbolts before and never had any installation problem as long as they fitted the bore hole sizes in the doors. This one really got me. It does not have enough clearance tolerance between the deadbolt latch and the two long (and unusually big in diameter) cross mounting screws that hold the cylinder and the thumbturn units together. As a result, I could only get one mounting screw in and had to leave one screw uninstalled. May be it does not work well with a smaller (1.5" diameter) bore hole.

I'll have to get another one to replace this one soon. But probably not from Schlage.
