I have a mass produced exterior door on a house built in 2004--nothing custom, special, too old or too new. This lock won't work with it. It will only work on doors that have 2 3/8" or 2 3/4" backset, or hole spacing from the edge of the door. It does not tell you this in their description. My door is 2 1/2", and it is not close enough to work. I actually learned this on a different branded electronic deadbolt (the mechanisms are the same) and returned it with no issue and no restocking fee.

I then asked a question about this on Amazon and after a week, no one could give me an answer. So I ordered it anyway, feeling confident in Amazon's return policy that I'd used before.

On this one, I am getting charged a 15% restocking fee. Someone is actually making money off of a poor description! The seller says that it costs them even more than 15% to return it to the manufacturer, so it seems to be the manufacturer that is at biggest fault, although...
